The workshops will focus on multidisciplinary approaches to developing skills in devising theatre through various exercises and training methods. All work will be developed collaboratively from scratch rather than using existing scripts.
The focus is on the creation process. Using a stimulus such as a found object, image, text or improvisation to generate material for performance. Movement, text, audio, one-to-one performance and audience participation will be explored.
Throughout the sessions there will be opportunities to develop your own short performances with the potential for further development. You will be given the chance to work solo, in small groups and as an ensemble. You are part of the creation process, led and structured by Theatre Maker Lauren Hart.
Aimed at anyone interested in collaborative performance making. No prior experience required. Please wear comfortable clothes, be prepared to work barefoot or in studio shoes and bring a bottle of water.

FEEDBACK FROM PREVIOUS PARTICIPANTS
'Thank you Lauren for your ideas and creative input. You taught me a lot about presence, attitude and charisma on stage and in a defined space. Your improvisation tasks were both frightening and inspiring, but definitely moved my boundaries. The greatest thing about your classes was how much I learned about myself. I will always appreciate it. You're a great theatre teacher.'
'I learnt that it is very good to work with clear deadlines.'
'I loved the day we worked with our own personal stories (written and physical work). I liked the exercise with the objects too.'
'It was a really amazing experience for me, and the way you taught was very nurturing for a beginner'
